Orientation Coffee

Yesterday we had our Orientation Coffee to start our new mentor/mentee relationships for the next 6 months and it went great.
We met in the cozy home of one of our church members and shared some coffee, finger food and of course, M&M's, while we learned what a mentoring relationship can be between women.
My favorite time of the afternoon was hearing the stories of those women I sat with and listening to them brag on our Savior; how He has been faithful through every season of their lives, how He has led them through changes, how He has renewed relationships, and how He woes us to his side.  It's both moving and encouraging to hear these things and to know we are not alone in this walk of life.  We as women struggle with the same things, want the same things and feel the same things and we truly do need each other.
The Lord gave me such a gift in my mentor last January and we still talk regularly and often meet when our schedules alllow.  She is a wise lady and wants nothing more than to please the Lord in all she does.  She has encouraged me in my own walk, listened for many hours to my own struggles and has spoken the truth in love when I needed to hear it.  Both she and her husband have been a 'safe place' for me while I have traveled a very tough road over the last two years and I count her not only my mentor, but a dear friend.
Our prayer team will meet today to seek God's face as to who should be paired up together and we will kick everything off next week.  I can't wait to see what God does through these women over the next few months.

I'll leave you with a verse that has spoken to my heart:

"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you.  He will never let the righteous fall."
     Psalm 55:22

Hold tightly to Him!
